The Little White Cloud That Cried
By Johnny Ray
I went walkin' down by the river
Feeling very sad inside
When all at once I saw in the sky
The little white cloud that cried
He told me he was very lonesome
And no one cared if he lived or died
And said sometimes the thunder and lightning
Make all little clouds hide
He said "Have faith in all kinds of weather
For the sun will always shine
Do your best and always remember
The dark clouds pass with time"
He asked if I'd tell all my world
Just how hard those little clouds try
That's how I know I'll always remember
The little white cloud....that sat right down....and cried
This song was my mother's favorite song in high school. It's pretty awful, but I put it here for her, I guess, and to remember that.
The last time I saw her she was not having a good day and it got worse when night came, but eventually the darkness opened and she broke through ~ almost, but not quite making it over a bridge ~ maybe to fly...

As I was walking by your house this morning, I left a pot of pansies on the porch. I see the little white cloud...the morning sun illuminates it in a way only the sun can. Something tells me all is well on both sides of the heavens.
Did I tell you that when morning came that I found a flat of pansies in her garage? I think I did. And beside them a new trowel and garden gloves. Now that memory is clear as a bell. I think she might have had other plans for them, but I put one in the casket along with the gloves and trowel (why do we do silly stuff like that? Something kind of like the wood crosses with fake flowers along route 70). Then the others I kept them, watered them til they were spindly not sure what to do with them. Then (lightbulb moment) I took them and put them in the ground by the stone raccoon that still sits on her grave. They fell over though, I think I waited too long ~ lol
You're simply the best friend a girl can have.
