Tuesday evening
It's good to be in a private place again. I'm getting my footing.
I watched American Idol tonight while Royce painted the ceiling in the kitchen. I should have been painting, but I'm sort of into this show. It's not really a very good show, but I like the mindless entertainment and it's really most often completely inoffensive.
The last contestant #10, a guy called David Cook, sang a slower version of Billie Jean, the song by Michael Jackson? The arrangement was brilliant and the judges were falling all over themselves to tell him so ~ they were so excited and beside themselves being impressed with him... I would have been more impressed had I not known that it wasn't his arrangement, but Chris Cornell's...

I don't mind. But it would've been cool if David Cook would have mentioned it instead of taking the credit.

Yes, and it will probably come out anyway :)
I used to be fascinated by MTV's The Real World for some time, although the narcissism kept bugging me. I don't watch tv much anymore, probably because I get my daily dose of mindless entertainment elsewhere. People need it.
It's quite amazing that you knew the other version.
I just read that the host mentioned it while introducing. I missed it! :)
Heyyy, are you referring to me as mindless entertainment?? :)
Lol, no. I was just thinking today that I'm more after mindful entertainment too these days. It's true, an interesting paradigm shift and almost unnoticed. I found that I look at the tv set with a sense of wonder nowadays: what the hell what that about? Did I really watch it for all these years?
Nice piccie :)
I didn't start watching television until recently. Not in an intentional way. Sometimes I'd turn it on late night when I was nursing babies, or couldn't sleep, but just as a lull.
Now I watch it sometimes for entertainment and I have to say that at this point, I really enjoy it. I only have two programs that I take the time out during the week to watch (American Idol and a new program called The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which is over for the season). But I like to watch the tailend of an occasional old movie, or cooking tips and recently, I've caught some HGTV while eating supper.
A lot of it is poor quality, i totally agree and I can't get into it; but some of it is pretty good. It's like radio. I listen to NPR all day but sometimes it really sucks.
Oh that is the pic that Steven chose.
We've decided to give him his own blogger because I can't share the space and neither can he lol
