While out walking this morning, I was thinking about the girl in PA who has claimed that she was attacked by a man over a McCain sticker on her car. Now, I mentioned this in comment over at His Yumminess O' Field, so I hate to repeat myself, but either the enraged face carving man was dyslexic or PA Girl had some trouble in the mirror:

Yeah, I wondered about that. Unless he was turned around the other direction and made it from his perspective while she was on the ground or something? I don't know. I'm not going to read the story. I got enough of my news at the gym today. Blech.
It's a hoax. The cops say so. Just breaking. Pretty sad. But I'm not surprised. McCain called the young lady.
Well, she could have been upside down I suppose.
We've had quite a few stories like this in the news over here. And each and every single one of them turned out to be false - without exception.
I feel sorry for her, I hope the press leaves her alone. But man, I feel so bad for people of African descent after this kind of story comes out. They have to put up with so much bullshit.

That doesn’t sound very yummy to me, although I understand his anger.
Also, I think that he’s missing the point. I remember at least one case whereby a black girl claimed to have been tortured by white neo nazis. There seems to be a pattern in the way we deal with otherness.
So maybe it's all about the moon again, and not about the finger.
I can't speak for Field (his appearance is his yumminess, his mind is a secondary yumminess consideration for me :) just kidding.)(...sort of...).
racism here is so different from what anyone can understand outside the states. Even though I know you're a citizen of the world and I'm not trying to act as if you haven't seen forms of bias and abuse. It's just become such a part of our collective psyche, like needles embedded in a sensitive area that can't be removed.
I mean, people were enslaved here. We all know it and it's something that is always there and it still prevalent.
And there are people here who still believe that we should still have black people as slaves. Or worse, that people of color, any color, should be removed from our country or even, killed.
You should see the horrible racist texts my husband gets Loki. I would post them, but I feel like if I did, it would keep them alive. I like to think they die in the phone once we delete them.

Don't be a dork, I know you know what I mean.
Our racism is different, but not worse, it's just has a different tone, different energy clusters because of our history here. And it's hard to understand when you don't live it everyday. Just as I can only understand by compassion what your experience is from the remnants of your history.
