Cure for insomnia: A sister, half a bottle of wine, guacamole (with broken pitas), peach ice cream, and an Aleve.
Here is the NEW anniversary plan: Right after I wrote that I needed to come up with something more interesting than just supper, Royce called and said, "Let's do a long bike ride and go to breakfast." Right up my alley my brother ~ I said, "Hey that's perfect." But something came up (ok, my period) and riding on a bike in the middle of the country is not going to be ideal, so we are going to track down a pig and chicken and make us some breakfast at a metro park at sun-up. It's supposed to be a beautiful day here.
The kids told me a few days ago that there was a cocoon on Steven's little blue bike. It's not one he rides often, but I think one of the neighbor kids had it out and was taking it up and down the street for the past few days. They didn't describe the cocoon, so in my mind I thought it was probably a spider's nest or something. Well yesterday, I went out to take a look at it and hanging from the seat is a green chrysalis like a droplet of jade with gold dots around the perimeter

If I can keep it safe behind the house for a little while, it'll be a monarch.

Hoe aardig, een cowboy met een Nederlands accent. :)
Thanks ~ I'll keep you updated. I hope it emerges happily and finds it way to some sweet hacienda in Mexico.
