Much Ado about Nuthin'

Friday, December 12, 2008

I was out in the overcast morning yesterday. There was one star, one planet peeking from a cloudbreak. I was taking D for a walk and my neighbor called to me from his front step, "Good morning!"
I said, "Hi, how's it going?"
John said, "Very well, and you?"

I was like I usually am so I said, "Just fine!"

He went, "So, do you still want that wood?"
Oh hell yeah I do, so I replied, "Sure!"
And then I said, "I think I even have access to my wheelbarrow now. I think R is done mixing concrete in it."
He said, "I think I have mine, too. Great! I'll bring it over sometime Saturday."
I said, "Sounds good!"

But, then, on second thought I remembered something, so I told him, "Wait, the kids have a thing in the morning on Saturday, a play they're doing... what about early morning?"
He considered it and said, "Ok that should work. I really need to clean my garage out. What time?"
I was like, "Well, I'm an earlybird. I'm up before the sun." Which he knows this since he sees me most mornings in the dark.
He thought about it for a second and agreed, "Ok, I'll bring it over in my wheelbarrow."
And I said, "Sounds good and I'll help if I have mine."

"See you then!"

Making plans for Saturday, early.

I wish I were your neighbor. We could take the dogs for walks and then have our coffee before anyone else is up.

Everyone is early around here, but there are lots of dogs and lots of nice coffeedrinkers. If I find a house for sale in the 'hood that has a fireplace, tell E and the boys to get ready to move :).
