Halloween

That Steven is a crackerjack. He said yesterday, You know what I like best about Halloween? I go, Candy? He said, No, I like being able to be a monster for one whole night.

I think he's got the gist of this.... He's going as Grim Reaper, but I will tell him about Samhain, the Celtic Lord of Death later, and how the druids would set out food and drink to appease the souls returning from the spirit world. He will like that. He likes connections to things... We will light a fire and sit around after trick or treat, tell stories and play with tarot, and maybe sacrifice the freak cat from next door who keeps attacking Baby Kitty when she goes outside to play. Not really... But the druids would burns animals and make predictions about the coming year from their remains.... and then eat them. They would burn huge bonfires that they thought would consume all their bad deeds from the past year so they can start life new after yule...

Lea is going to be a Vampire, so I'll tell her about how the druids would dress up in costume as to fool the otherworlder's into thinking they were one of them and the spirits would pass them by... Druids liked to make lots of noise to scare off the ghosts and my kids are really good at that so they won't need a lot of encouragement.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to be ~ I'm presently clothes-free so the possibilites are endless. I think I better get dressed and skedaddle off to the thrift shop and see what I can throw together.
