Friday Five and it's on a Friday

1) What is your favorite noise to hear?

My name spoken by someone with a low voice who I like a lot

2) If you meet someone who is no longer alive who would you choose?

DH Lawrence. Maybe, DH Lawrence. But, I really like the idea of meeting someone I would have wanted to have had sex with more. That would probably be Walt Whitman on a day that he liked girls. Before the unruly beard.

3) You just found $50 while cleaning your house. Where do you decide to spend it?

That happened last weekend. 'Cept it was $100. Put it back where I found it. Let me see if it's still there.... Nope, I guess we used it to go the movies. Damn.

4) What magazines do you subscribe to?

Runner's Word, Sun and Cooking Light (all gifts, so have I really subscibed to them? Hm.)

5) If you could witness any event in history, but not change anything about it, what would you choose?

The birth of Jesus. No, not really. It just sounded like a good anybody's answer. Ok, the birth of Buddha. Nah. The birth of KUNDUN. The birth of Abraham Lincoln. The birth of Sadie Hawkins who created the Sadie Hawkins dance. I know, the birth of Sacajawea's baby.
Hmmm, history... let me see... I think I would have liked to have seen the Ohio River Valley before it was settled. No, I know, I would like to have been a trilobite in the Ordovician sea. But dang, I just said that to someone.. deja vu.

Since I can.... I think that I'll once again go to witness this event in history and not change anything about it: My mom and I are at the mall on a day she lets me take off school. There's a restaurant in the old Lazarus there, it is on a balcony and opened, with fake plants hanging over the banisters and antiques for ambience, and we are sitting up above the mallway overlooking the stores. I am having the cream of broccoli soup and crackers, and she is having the club sandwich with chips. We are watching the shoppers and talking about.... what..., I don't know, I can't hear us. She is wearing something special, grey wool pants and a soft winter white sweater, she dresses up for shopping and she looks pretty. After she pays the bill and leaves a tip, then we go out and there at the exit is a candy booth and she buys us chocolate turtles that we decide to wait and savor 'for later.'
