Travel

Ok, so I'm online to purchase my ticket to Arizona for my trip in February and I get to the page where I put in my final credit card information, almost there, the deal is almost closed... and I freeze.

I think, like I have so many times before, what if a better deal comes up between now and then? What if I could actually get out there for less than $200. And so I will think to myself that I'll wait until tomorrow... And then, what will probably happen is the internet special fair that I found will be gone, and then I will have to settle for the funfair, which is never fun. It's usually ridiculous. And then I will think, I should have just gone for it the day before...

Listening to Norah Jones after I woke up this morning:

Sunrise, sunrise
looks like morning in your eyes..

So I began looking up pictures of sunrises and I found the one that I put up here. It's not beautiful or anything, but it put me to mind of the morning I was out in the Sonoran desert with my dad a few years ago. We went there around 4:30am to meet up with the hot air balloon people to take a ride. It was fun, but the best part was the peaceful early morning in the desert as the sun was just barely there. Sitting on the hood of the car, though we were surrounded by mountains, the sky looked like that. I really enjoyed the shadowy saguaro, ancient crone-like, tall and proud. It's like their backs are to you from whatever angle you look at them, stretching their faces to honor whatever is in front of them. At the time we were out there they were in bloom so the air smelled like warmed cantaloupe..

I think I'm just going to go ahead and book the flight because it's right in front of me and I don't think I'm going to get better deal.
