Ode to Boring
When we moved into this house that white 4x4 was already sticking out of the ground like an old widower missing his partner. Royce said we ought to pull it out of the ground and burn it with the rest of the debris from around the yard. But I said I didn't want to, I thought it might be a fine and lovely thing to bury another beam in the ground, espouse it with the other and stretch infinity across the top to connect the two. He wondered what I'd do with it, and I thought, By golly, I'll dry me some laundry. One day I will write an entire prose about clotheslines.
This is 2/3 of an adirondack that my brother in law Ed gave me. When he offered it to me it was a pretty light cedar color. Now it is weathered from spending every winter outside. The pieces that were placed into the holes to keep in from falling apart have now been replaced with broken pieces of tree limbs.
Here it is in blackishwhitish because the photo was originally a picture of a squirrel and the chair was blurry. What to do with blurry photos? Turn them blackishwhitish:
Below is a photo of a table (it came with the adirondack) which today has been turned into either
1.) A warzone, or 2.) A clubhouse
depending on the play and if the Scooby-doo blanket is available for a cover. Other days, if we are having a fire, we use it to make s'mores. Or even, when I get my little $5 10" charcoalgrill to cook burgers out, it becomes it's stand. It is also utilized as a display table for Littlest Pets parties. It is a multi-use hand-me-down.
And next, this is the wood I was stacking, and not stacking very well as you can see, when I found out from his sister that my neighbor Joe died. When I was taking this photo this morning his little dog Holly was outside jumping up against the fence waiting for me to take the photo so I could come over and pet her.

This is great stuff. And I always wanted to know what that stack of wood looked like.
